Today we started a seperate add-on to the kiwi expierience called the bottom bus. It takes you to some of the more remote and less commercial places and is far less busy. The busses are a lot smaller and therfore have a friendlier atmosphere. We headed south to Dunedin, entering sheep-country on the way. Here in New Zealand there are 10 sheep to every person.

On arrival into Dunedin we visited the worlds steepest residential street - Baldwin street. It was ridiculous. We walked all the way to the top - basically on tip-toes. Our hostel was also right at the top of a hill, which caughtus out - it looked flat on the map. In the afternoon we went to the Otago museum to see the Antarctic exhibition, which was really good and we got to dress up in cold weather kit. Another highlight was the animal attic. They had a giant tortoise shell and we put it on and made ourselves into tortoises - see photos!

On the second day Gemma and I couldnt resist a trip to the Cadbury chocolate factory. They have so many more flavours here than in the UK. We've had chocolate fudge brownie, banoffy pie, lemon cheescake....We also learned that the average kiwi eats 4kg per year - compared to the UK where we eat on average 16kg each per year! The whole factory smelt delicious. I didnt waste any time in starting to work towards my 16kg target - we've got standards to meet! Was a really interesting tour - i've always wondered how they make easter eggs.
