I worn you now this is a long one guys - sorry
22/10/2009 - We were pleased to be leaving krabi this morning, firstly because of the crazy parade and secondly because there wasnt that much to do so overall was a bit of a disappointment. We arrived at phi phi just after ten and it looked lovely on first impressions, the sea was nice and blue and you could see lots of fish. We got off the boat and there were loads of thai reps advertising there hotels and we found the one for our bungalows that we had already booked online in krabi. Tom asked the man for a taxi and he told us to wait, but he was taking ages so we just decided to try and find our own taxi. When we got out of the port and onto the street we noticed that there wasnt really a road, then the main from the bungalows caught us up and he had a trolley with him which said 'taxi' on it! Oh how silly we felt, there are no roads in phi phi town let alone cars!! As we were loading our bags onto the 'taxi' trolley an english guy from one of the dive centres marked out on our map all the good places for us to go on the island. We followed the taxi man to our bunglows which took about ten mintues to walk from the port on one beach to the otherside where our bungalows were. As we were walked through we noticed that there were loads of clothes shops :) and plenty of restuarants and bars. We were very impressed with our bungalows, they were right on the beach with two little deck chairs on the front for us to chill out on. And jenni and jerri were in the one opposite us in our little cul-de-sac, so we were like neighbours which was cool. We were all very hungry and wanted to have a look in the many clothes shops we had walked pass so headed into the town for a wander. Jenni and jerri managed to buy a few tshirts and things. After some lunch we went to the beach by our bungalows to chill out, and as we were lying there josh walked pass to our suprise as we hadnt arranged to meet him here. He had arrived in the morning too and had met a couple of american guys - Josh and Alex that he was sharing a room with. We introduce ourselves and got chatting then arranged to meet them at there room in the evening to play some drinking games before going out.
We returned to our bungalows and got ready for the eve, when we got to josh's me jerri and jenni had a bucket of sam sung to drink between us but we played ring of fire so that didnt last very long and we had to go out and get some more supplies. After the games were over we went out and went to a place called tiger bar which gives out free buckets at midnight and luckily we only a had a few minutes to wait. We all got our buckets and hit up the dancefloor and we were the only people in there dancing. We heard our first christmas song - Mariah Carey's All i want for christmas!! Good times.
Then we headed to Apache which is a club right on the beach that was conveniently right outside our bunglaows on the bit of beach that we were sunbathing on earlier in the day! We stayed to the end because honestly we wouldnt have got any sleep in our bamboo bungalows if we had tried to go to bed.
Day 2 - Me and tom went straight to the 'little britain' cafe for breakfast and had a full english with proper sausages and proper bacon it was scrumptious. We left jen n jerri in bed as they couldnt face getting up yet. By the time we got back they were up and ready for the beach so we went with them. After only a couple of hours they gave up and went back to bed. Tom and I found josh, josh and alex in the sea so we hung out with them for a bit then arranged to meet up and do the same thing this evening. We played ring of fire again but this time we had a couple of dutch girls join us and we put a lot more rules in which made it so much harder. We went to tiger bar after for our free buckets then to the beach to party. It was a realy good night again, and we didnt drink too much this time as we had booked to go on a boat trip the next day.
Day 3 - We got up early in the morning not too hungover and went to the port for our boat trip. We left the port about half nine and went over to phi phi leh which is the smaller one of the two islands and where they filmed the beach. We made our first few stops where we didnt get off the boat at a viking cave and a small beach, then we stopped at a small bay and did some snorkelling. From there we climbed over some rocks, i took the safer route through the caves and jenni and jerri went over the top on some dodgey ladder, and walked to Maya Bay which was the part that they filmed the beach on. This was definately the best beach by far, the sand was soo soft and the sea was lovely and clear and warm. The only thing was that clearly all the other tours lad arrived at the same time so there were hundreds of people on the beach and we couldnt get a photo without them all in the background. So we carefully took our cameras into the sea an managed to get a few good photos. We then made our way back to the boat and on the way jerri got bitten by a crab on the rocks and was hanging on to a piece of rope scared to put her feet down, it was hilarious. After that we headed to shark point and we swam out into the sea, on the way out jerri had difficulties with her mask and i got stung so us two headed back to the boat and left tom an jen to swim out n find some sharks. But they didnt managed to see any. However on the way to the next stop me and tom saw a shark at the top of the water just off the side of the boat, it was well cool and a little scarey, im glad we were on the boat when we saw it otherwise i think i would have had heart failure. We then went to one of the small islands just off the coast and this palce was really good for snorkelling. Tom left us girls on the beach and went off snorkelling, apparently this is now his new favourite hobby. Our last stop was at a place called monkey island, famous for the monkeys on the beach. First we went snorkelling in the caves just off the beach then we made our way over to go and see the monkeys. But when we got to the beach there were no monkeys at all, the only thing we saw was a massive lizard! So we went back to the boat all very tired from all the snorkelling, on the way back to the port we saw that all the monkeys were on the other side of the island :( We went out for dinner and just as were were finishing we saw josh and alex so we went with them to a sports bar so the guys could watch the football, then we went back to their room to collect the other josh and went for the same routine with the free buckets again. We didnt stay out as late as we were all really tired from the day on the boat and suprisingly we managed to get some sleep dispite the loud music from the Apache club, thats how tired we were.
Day 4 - Our last day on Phi Phi. Me and tom went to little britain cafe again for breakfast then we tried to find the tsunami village. but after we got half way up the hill we gave up because we were to hot and tired. We went back to the bungalows and saw jen and jerri on the beach but it looked like it was about to rain so we decided to go shopping in town and leave them on the beach. We managed to buy a few things then went back to the bungalow and chilled out for the rest of the afternoon. We met josh for dinner as it was our last night with him, then we went to a sports bar to watch the liverpool vs Man u match. After we went to a half moon party on the beach in the rain and got to play with fire, it was lots of fun.
