Hello everyone, will give you a summary of what we have done so far..
We arrived late afternoon yesterday and as soon as we left the airport the heat hit us but luckily we were straight into a air conditioned cab that took us into to town. The driver was crazy, they dont stick to any of the lanes marked on the road they just pretty much go where ever they like. He was singing thai songs all through the journey and trying to speak as much english as he could to us. He dropped us to what he thought was our hostel but it was the wrong one so we had to lug our bags in the heat and try and find our hostel on Khao San Road.
We found it eventually, it is right on khao san road and its pretty good for a cheap hostel. we went for a walk in the evening to try and explore the area. we went for dinner and had some rice n chicken, but couldnt eat much as we were so hot n tired.
Today we went to MBK which is a huge shopping centre that has six floors and just seems to go on for miles and miles, we got lost plenty of times. All the shops are like little market stalls and each selling pretty much the same as the last one.
We both bought ourselves some cool 'Ray Bans' sunglasses for 4 pound each. we then got a cab back to the hostel and saw a man driving with a baby on the back of his moped through the busy traffic - crazy!! we are slowly adjusting to the time difference, but we just had to have a little nap and now we are going out for somthing to eat and some drinks in a roof top bar which is just over the road from our hostel.
