07/12/2009 - It was time to leave Brissy and next stop was a little town called Mooloolaba just north of Brissy. It was a curfuffle trying to find where the bus would pick us up because it was a new stop. The bus turned up just under and hour late and we were all pleased when it finally did show up. When we got on it, our friend Charlotte from the first bus was on there so we had a good catch up. We got to Mooloolaba just after 2 o'clock in the afternoon and went straight down to the beach as soon as we got there. We had been in a city for only 3 days but had all missed the beach. The beach was really nice and wasn't to crowded either because its a tiny little town.
08/12/2009 - Day 2
We started the day off with a dip in the pool the walked to the wharf which was described as having shops and where the nightlife would be. But when we got there we soon found out that the nightlife was one bar and the shops were little local ones selling nik naks!! A bit of a let down but hey-ho. Me and tom then walked along the beach front and found the proper shops. Tom had to get some new swimming shorts because the ones he bought in Thailand for like 3 pounds were falling a part and his other were all getting too big for him. So he walked out the shop in a pair of speedos!! - not the short pant stylie but some cool flowery shorts. We went and met kim on the beach and did some hardcore sunbathing. Later that eve we had some dinner then mingled with the peps at the hostel. One guy was working at Australia zoo for the week in the hospital part which sounded pretty cool.
09/12/2009 - Day3
In the morning we decided to go on a tour that the hostel was running to the Glass Mountains and a few other destinations. The guy turned up an hour late for the tour and we all crammed in a tiny minivan which was boiling hot. First stop was the Glass mountains but we didn't actually go to them we went up a hill near mooloolaba and looked out on them in the distance. Australia doesn't really have much landscape its all pretty flat we have learnt so the mountains would be classed as a mere hill back home. Next stop was the rain forest and we all went for a little walk down to the biggest waterfall in Queensland. But when we got there, because there is a drought on at the moment it was a tiny trickle of water, but we and tom were so hot we jumped right in. It was freezing cold but so freshing. The walk back the van was all up hill so we were dying when we got there. We were pleased to hear the next stop was at a pub, so when we got there we got a nice cold drink in and had a bowl of chips because the price of food was way to expensive for backpackers. We got back to the hostel in the afternoon and chilled out in the pool. We got away without paying the 15 dollars for the tour which was result as it wasn't worth it anyway.
