We are Sailing
Well, it is 11pm and we have just returned from another wonderful meal at the Avanti cafe. Top meal, including drinks and sweets for $23 a head. So cheap.
As Cheryl and I are leaving in the morning it gave us time to reflect on our trip. It has been great sailing, and we couldn't have wished for better company. But all good things come to an end.
Kos has been great, because it allowed us to have time to relax. The town is full of history, but it also has a very modern edge as well. The people we have met have been nothing but very friendly and helpful
The beaches are absolutely choc a block full of people cooking in the sun, looking for the perfect tan. .
It is amazing how you can accumulate skills in your life, that you don't know when you will use them. Little did I know that when I did my lifesaving in my youth (by watching Baywatch every night) I would use those skills in Kos. I could see white pointers from about 30 m, which meant that I could warn Brian and Stuart, ensuring they didn't stray on the cycle path and run into oncoming bikes. It so good to able to help your Friends.
I am sitting outside the Marina Cafe, so I can use their wireless. The Cafe is still full of life. Only 28c, with a slight breeze blowing. I can say I am not looking forward to going back to Perth's winter. Cheryl and I will leave the Marina at 12 tomorrow, we should arrive in Athens mid afternoon, where will stay at the Sofitel at the airport.
Lex and Sue, are due to arrive in Kos at 9.00pm tomorrow night. They will then begin their journey to Turkey with Brian and Diane, and Stuart and Heather. I am certain they will enjoy the journey as much as we have.
For those friends of Brian and Diane and Stuart and Heather, Diane will be commencing a new Travel Blogg, for which you will get notification. If you wish to follow Cheryl and I back to Perth, please feel free to continue reading our blogg. For those of you who received Dianes text (which possibly went to everyone in her contacts,) you will be receiving "bloggs" not "cloggs" (predictive text LOL)
I have included another photo of the ruins we went to today. This is an old hospital, but it probably looks a bit like Greece's economy!
