We are Sailing
Today will be the last blogg from Kos, and Cheryl and I will be flying out for Athens tomorrow morning, staying overnight and then going to Dubai for a couple of days.
Sorry about the abrupt end to yesterdays blogg, but the blogger does some silly things from time to time.
Today was again another easy day. We had a late breakfast again at the cafe that serves English breakfasts. We then caught the Blue train to the worlds first hospital where Hippocrates become known. I was quite fascinated by the site, not sure about Brian and Stuart. The girls had already seen it earlier in the week, and I can definitely say were not keen at all to go back. The ruins are about 2400 years old. The ruins were raided by the Knights of St John to build the castle in Kos town.
The train ride up only took about 15 minutes, and you do see the back blocks of the town, all adding the the atmosphere we are experiencing. When catching the train, I ended up in a carriage with a lovely lady from Bethlehem. We had a nit of a chat about things, and Greeces whoas. But she thought they were nothing, compared to what is happening in Palestine. Bethlehem has no Industries except tourism, and it has been badly affected in recent times, though Bethlehem is quite safe to visit, and the only area of Palestine that is unsafe if Gaza. Nice lady, and interesting to talk to. Stuart also sat next to a person from the same group. Brian was in the front with some French people. Our way back only happened because Brian managed to throw this little old lady off the train, so Stuart and I could have a seat. What a big bully! Not really, but again total lack of being able to Manage queues, and everybody makes a rush for the train. People can't get out, and others can't get on. Also there are others who have not paid for a ride back, try their luck. When we arrived back, the girls were back in the cafe we left them in! Well it was jot, and we were all stuffed. We had some cold drinks, and Cheryl and I went off shopping, Stuart and Heather off to find a T Shirt shop they saw, and Brian and Di back to the yacht,'just in case the Marina man wants to move the boat. Eventually after the shopping was done, and Lunch had at a Swedish Cafe we found, everybody headed went back to the boat and caught up with Brian and Di. After all that it was time for a knap for a couple of hours. We are all now at the Marina Cafe while I write this blogg.
