Took an early morning boat ride from Plymouth harbour and into the Tamar river, which forms the border between Devon and Cornwall. Started at the Mayflower Steps where the convict ships bound for Australia left from. There is a big naval base here and many fortifications from centuries past. Joined our Trafalgar tour this morning and, thank god, most of our fellow tourists are Aussies! Our first stop was Stonehenge (raised 4500 years ago) followed by lunch in Salisbury. The Salisbury Cathedral has the tallest spire in Britain (440 ft) and has only 6 ft deep foundations. It was built in the 1200's and houses the best preserved copy of the Magna Carta (one of 4 originals). We then drove on to Plymouth and had our welcome dinner at the Mussel Inn, Down ...

Caught the train down to Windsor today to check out the castle. Did the Duck tour so went around the castle and grounds and then onto the river Thames. Windsor Castle has 5 1/2 miles of corridors and covers 13 acres. Lots of people enjoying the sunshine. Eton College (where Wills and Harry went) is just down the road and it costs £35000 a year for tuition.

A trip down to Brighton beach to do the pommy thing - fish and chips on the pier! A nice sunny day to enjoy the beach (sorry, pebbles)! I can't believe how big the place is (and would have been all those years ago.)

Another brilliant day in London - sunny and not a cloud in the sky. We picked the right day to go on the London Eye (not too long a wait either)! Checked out Westminster Abbey and St. Paul's Cathedral as well. I have never seen so many tombs - too many to look at really. Climbed 376 steps to the stone gallery of St Paul's to check out the view - the old heart rate got up pretty high but I was pretty proud of my efforts!
