Raining in London today but squeezed in a trip to Wimbledon Village this morning to go to Elms department store. While we were there we saw all the cyclists in the Ride London 100-mile event (24000 of them) - and a spill right in front of us. Headed to the West End in the afternoon to see The Committments at the Palace theatre. Great music and loved the chance to hear Irish accents again. Back in London and everyone wanted a chance to rest up after our 20 day tour! I set off on my own to the city to do some souvenir shopping and check out some more of London. Started at Leicester Square, then walked up to Picadilly Circus and all the way to Knightsbridge. Stopped in at all the classics - Fortnum & Mason's, Harvey & Nicholl's, Harrod's - food halls are amazing here and I was salivating just walking through!

Another brilliant day in London - sunny and not a cloud in the sky. We picked the right day to go on the London Eye (not too long a wait either)! Checked out Westminster Abbey and St. Paul's Cathedral as well. I have never seen so many tombs - too many to look at really. Climbed 376 steps to the stone gallery of St Paul's to check out the view - the old heart rate got up pretty high but I was pretty proud of my efforts!

Cruise on the Thames today down to Greenwich. Straddled the prime meridian and watched the ball drop. Great views looking back to London of the Shard, the Cheese Grater, the Gherkin and the Walkie Talkie. Also overlooked the O2 Millenium Stadium. Managed a quick Pimm's in the King's Arms before heading back to London.

After a disappointing day Monday not being able to get into Wimbledon and queuing in the rain, we had a beautiful sunny day today. Saw changing of the guard at Buckingham palace and went through Tower of London. Still lots of queuing though!
