chiang mai is one of Thialands largest cities and was once the capital before Bankok. its a huge place thats most famous for its night markets. thiese are on every night and last till early hours of the morning.
we figured out our way around and headed for a bar, suprise suprise.
josh went for his hair cut that nearly went horribly wrong while we (me, mick and jen) sat down and drank a couple of bevvies. we had a few games of pool and drank cheep beer. after the first pint the barmaid started serving us at our table and we played toss the boss ( basically you have a coin and play heads or tails, if you guess it right you get a free pint!) obviously we made great profit off this and between us in an hour we only bought 2 drinks which i think was one of mine and one of jens wines. so all in all it was a cheap hour.
we all went out later that evening to celabrate our end of trip, and also we were leaving two of our travellers, nicky and steph. after drinking and eating pleanty we made our way tyo the markets where mick would show us his barganing skills! this involved arguing with market people about why you wouldn't need an automatic watch and why his tourch should be worth less than 20p. it was quite funny to watch.
the next day we had to get up early which didn't deter us from drinking towers of chang which worked out about 1-2 quid a time. which isn't bad for three litres.
we woke up early to do a thai cooking class which was quite eventful. we went round the markets in the morning which isn't the best for Changovers (cheers mick). i was feeling abit on the fragile side which made me feel really bad when walking round fish markets and cramped conditions!
when we started cooking i was fine again but jsh wasn't his cooking could have been used in rat poision it was so bad! his soup should have been white but it turned out pink! very worrying to say nothing red went in!
after cooking and eating 4 main courses we were stuffed and we did have time to digest it on the train back to Bankok!
