Hello all! Sorry for lack of postcards lately but have been a poorly girl and not really been up to much! Managed to get an infection in my lymph glands which has made me feel really rough. Have got antibiotics now though so will hopefully feel better soon! This is our last week of school and the older kids all have exams (it's their last week of term before their long summer holiday) so we will only be teaching the littlies this week - yay! We've all been doing lots of planning this week too - because we have this week here and then a week on Koh Tao and then off into the unknown! We all need to go to the Burma border to renew our visas the weekend after Koh Tao and then we'll head back to Bangkok for a few days while the girls get their visas sorted out for Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia. Then we're heading off to Kanchanaburi to do the Bridge over the River Kwai and all the war memorials etc, really looking forward to that - I think i need a bit of culture after all this tourist tat that surrounds me at the moment! The plan is to work our way up the country to arrive in Chiang Mai just before my birthday, which, conveniently, is also Thai New Year! We've been assured that Chiang Mai is THE place to be for Songkran (Thai New Year) and I can't wait! After that we will head for Nan where we we probably do a trek up into the mountains for a few days. The others will then cross the border into Laos and I shall make my way back to Bangkok to fly home on 29 April. It's all getting very exciting - I feel I've spent enough time in Chalok Lam and can't wait to leave - although I will miss the kids like crazy! We were playing in the sea with some of the little ones today - until a mad German-looking couple decided it would be fun to start doing some naked handstands! Believe me - that isn't a euphemism for something else - they really were doing handstands! Going to love you and leave you all now, got a little burnt on the beach today and need to go in search of some aloe vera! Love to you all! xxxxx
