So we have spent the last few days staying on magnetic island; an island 20 minutes from Townsville. I have really enjoyed myself here!

On the first day, we went to the Full Moon Party. It was not really what I expected, I imagined it to be a lot busier but it was still good fun!

We spent our second day exploring the island a little and laying by the base hostels pool which was nice, until the weather turned and it started to rain! After some well deserved food we napped and went back to the bar for a few quiet drinks with everyone we had met so far.

Our last day on the island was my favourite by far- we walked to the nearby bay which is called 'picnic bay'. We had a BBQ on the beach, and then swam in the sea as there were stinger nets. In the afternoon we went for a walk up ' the forts' which was a short bus around the island where we spotted koalas in the wild! They were a lot smaller than I imagined. The views on the walk were also incredible; you could see all of the bays on the island and see the coast line of mainland Australia.

I've had the best time here and I'm looking forward to see some more wildlife along the west coast!
