We left Wilmington under a blanket of mist this morning. We drove over the mountain and headed down towards Port Augusta. Beautiful green and lush country side and hills.
We got to Port Augusta and went to the information centre to find out what we could do in a day!
Had a great time and went to the Arid Botanic Gardens and lookout. There are great examples of plants and flowers that grow in arid areas such as Central Australia. Gracie took lots of photos with her camera - some of which were actually in focus!
We also went out to see the Royal Flying Doctor Service. We saw a short film on the history of the RFDS but the best thing was we got to go onto one of the planes as we were the only ones there.
After Port Augusta, we drove up to a Rest Area at Pimba and havenow set up camp with heaps of grey Nomads all heading in the same direction!!
