We headed out to the Flinders Chase National Park for a couple of nights camping. We have a small (very small!!) 3 man tent and Gracie has been desperate to 'camp' before we get home, so we took the opportunity to camp on KI.

On the way, we went to Cape Borda and had a tour of the lighthouse. Very interesting and we learnt lots from the tour guide about the shipwrecks and history of the area. They have a cannon that they fire once a day and Gracie got to do this (with Daddy's help) and she received a certificate for being an Honorary Gunnery Officer!

We drove down to Flinders Chase and set up the tent in a bit of rain. Nice and snug with three in the bed - guess who was in the middle!

While we were in Flinders Chase we went to look at Admirals Arch and the Fur Seal Colony there, Remarkable Rocks and Weir Cove. The cove is where the lighthouse keepers used to get their supplies and they used to have to winch them up a 90 metre cliff.

We took a walk out to the Platypus Waterholes but unfortunately we couldn't see any platypus. On the way back to camp we saw an echidna looking for ants to eat and he stayed near us for a short time before wandering off. Also saw two koalas who were climbing and eating leaves in the trees rather than being asleep as they usually are.

We went to Kelly Hill Cave on our way back to Kingscote - a limestone cave very different to others we have seen as this is a 'dry' cave where ther is not much dripping of water to keep the structures growing.
