We have camped at Naracoorte Caves campground today. This is a South Australian Park that is both Australian Heritage and World Heritage listed.
We took a tour of the Victoria Fossil Cave which is quite big but we only saw a fraction of it. There are heaps of fossils of animals - both extinct and still livng. This is one of the areas in the world that contains such a vast array of bones.
We also went into the Wet Cave which was formed from being filled with dirt and then over time, water washing away leaving all the limestone formations.
The Visitors Centre has a wonderful display of lifesize animals that are now extinct and what they would have looked at. Our favourite is the Diprotodon but there is also a large leaf eating kangaroo which looks a bit like a cross between a kangaroo and a koala!
