We headed to the train station for 20:00hours to get ready for our over night train leaving Guilin and heading to Shenzhen to connect to Hong Kong. When we arrived we were pleasantly surprised to see about 3 other white couples waiting for this train. (most white people we have seen together on our trip! And what's funny is we could pin point where exactly we saw one of the couples the other day ...you get the point not many white people here haha)
The train we had was actually the nicest train we've had so far still same layout but was a bit cleaner and they had an English menu etc. We put our bags down and had a great long convo with a couple from Miami it was great getting to share funny stories about our trips together. We've met quite a few couples along our journey so far it's great.
We were able to get a good sleep for once on the train as it was actually quiet and not busy. Not too much smoke and no one came in in the middle of the night to sleep on the top bunks. We're happy!!
So we arrive in Shenzhen unfortunately to a huge crowd of many people waiting to get across to hong kong. It was like 1000's of people very crazy!! Anyways finally figure our way through.
Arrived in HK, took the metro to our hostel, right in the smack of Kowloon.
HK is such a large city but a lot more ethnic backgrounds here.
Our building we were at had a lot of Indian and African backgrounds to it.
Walked by the waterfront to look at the endless and yet unique skyline.
Walked through a large part of Kowloon and it was packed with people, shopping crazy here.
Also the traffic is normal here, other then the British way of driving: on the wrong side of the road.
