We head this morning to the train station heading on a long 32 hour 2000km trip through inner China to reach Chengdu.
Chengdu is also the hub for travel to Nepal ( Lhasa) and Tibet: this is in the back our minds.
Will go to the Panda reserve and enjoy the rare a precious animals.
We may be out of contact for a few days but no worries.
We just want to reflect on China one more bit: the cultures in these big cities are the same but truly a whole lot different. As animal lovers, it's hard for us to see stray animals surviving to stay alive.
A cat has been hanging around our hostel, inside and out and has suffered bad malnutrition. So we went to the local grocery store to get food for it. We can only hope this friendly and sick cat ( Tyler named it Zulu) finds the ability to survive through winter.
It's also to see homeless families: mothers will get their children to bag, which is hard to say no to a child with no shoes and dirty clothes.
So far we have felt really safe, I think even more the Canada. We have worked through shanty parts of town at night with not one drop of problems: let's hope this continues!
Far well for now, until next time.
