So our blog got deleted before we published it so we will start from the start:
A long time ago, two brave Canadians ventured into a cab with a strange Chinese man, with his courageous acts of driving in the world of paved hell; the streets. He took us upon the lush and mystic hills in search of finding the rare but tame Panda. Our quest ended in what seemed to be a mysterious gate that said welcome: what foreign languages have we came upon: ok you get the point, where at the panda reserve..weooooo!
Spend the morning with the Panda's and what an amazing experience to get to interact with these rare and endangered animals/ darn cute things.
Feeding them was fun, not many people can say they have feed a panda nor made them climb a tree: not to gloat but we have :). !!!
Got to clean a panda's cage/ poo , which yes it's crap but since the panda had such a strict diet, it's s$&@ don't stink.
Used the afternoon to venture around the lush and remarkably green park.
We learned more about Pandas and can say we are mini experts.
That evening we had a dumpling party at our hostel and Tyler made the best designed dumpling any one has seen: ok lets be honest, it looked my like a timbit then a dumpling.
Meet a cool aussie couple ( some how we meet them in pairs, meet another couple while volunteering) as well has and older American/ typical d-bag; he talked more S&@$ then what we cleaned in the panda cage ( and the panda eats more the 20kg of food a day, think about it)
On Saturday we left for our train ride, the train was older but our window could open to let the smoke out and also provided us to get better pictures.
We meet this adorable little Chinese girl who provided us with hours of entertainment: we'll I think both sides were equally entertained.
Before leaving we meet a couple ( only other white people we seen on a train) as this is always good to not always talk to each other, after 20 hours we both get antsy by then.
The scenery for the last 3 hours was among the beat scenery we have seen our life, the rock formations are truly unique.
Guilin is the smallest city we have visited yet: 1.4 million people. It feels like a little village. Walked around, the city is quite nice and has a beautiful riverfront area.
Animal lovers skip this paragraph: walked by a restaurant right at the bottom of our hostels steps; not a bird, not a plain but...... Dog, and we are not talking about the cute ones people carry with them. 100 % real dead and cooked dog: not wanting to know the breed!
Any ways we are safe once again and will be hitting the hay shortly, a lot of sight seeing tomorrow!
Have a great day.
