Well unfortunately for me not much sleep.....not sure why but no luck. Morning came early and it was really raining out...we managed to stuff our stuff into the bags and off we went our driver was waiting....now probs. Weather wise it is raining big time...but no worries as its a travel day anyways....kinda sucks cause we don't get to Samui till like 4:00....its now 8:00...off to Bangkok and then a 4 hr lay over till the next flight to Samui.
So it all is going like clock work....first flight on time....we sat in the lounge....but kinda weird for here....domestic lounges....no booze..crap I can get beer in a 7-11 for 50 baht but not in a lounge..and I guess it is a bit early anyways.but dam it, its noon somewhere..so whats a guy and gal to do.....
We get to Bangkok...no worries.....and wander around till we find this restaurant in the departures area..had to exit the secure area to get to it but the domestic area is really limited......gotta get some Tom Yum....and we were not disappointed...was awesome and we got it with the rice noodles this time....interesting thing about Tom Yum...go to 100 different restaurants and you get 100 different versions...never had two the same......but this was really good.....and spicy...another funny thing about here. When you order Tom Yum....they automatically say..."no worry not spicy". We always have to say...hang on make it spicy dang it.....its Thailand for pete's sake dam Brits are ruining everything. If you get a Tom Yum that you do not have to concentrate on eating it without choking to death its no good plain and simple. I've made the mistake of having a conversation whilst eating it....and slurped without thinking and ten minutes of gagging and choking and spitting flames....I finally calmed down.....but if eaten with care...it is awesome totally clears the sinuses. Hell we got time so we decide to get dessert.....I get this thing called cocolate mocha.....oh my buddah....was it ever freaking good.....I was eatin this thing and it was like that movie "When Harry Met Sally".....hell ya and I did not care people were staring and stuff.....it was ok by me. Shauna kept telling me to keep it down and all, I guess that is her job and all...but sheesh it was good......
So got on the flight to Samui and nice flight....50 minute flight and we got a meal and all....its nice to fly in asia unlike north America. We landed at the airport here and the plane doors opened up....and the wave of heat and humidity hit us....holy crap she be hot and sunny even at 4 pm. You get off the plane and get on these cart trains and they take you to the terminal....it is such a cool airport...its open air....like thatched huts....really tropical. Totally redone since last time we were here. Got our bags....and our ride was waiting for us. 15 minute trip to the resort....and as usual here we were greeted like royalty, drinks....watting....etc etc....Seems like we lucked out to in the room department....right on the beach....wicked cool villa....our own yard....with a pallapa....sun room....jacuzzi....etc....totally awesome......yay. Tough to spend time here. Funny thing, we are at Chaweng beach...party central....but as soon as you enter the resort...its like walking into the jungle.....totally calm and quiet. No elephants though....
So we settle in and hit the strip.....major drinks at the many small bars....walk half a block ahhh a good looking bar....don't mind if we do....they make a mean Mojito here..and Shauna is digging the Singha..as I am sweating like an Eskimo in Cancun I honestly can not get enough liquids in...the drinks are half the price of back home but I am drinking 3 times more....ahhh well will die trying to keep hydrated hahahhahahahahahah then we managed to find a restaurant we frequented last time we were here and it did not disappoint. I think they make the best Thai food on the island.
So the crappy part of this place is that there are 10,000,000,000 suit shops on an island about I dunno 10 miles x 10 miles square....no kidding all the suit shops are manned by the Nepalese guys. They are very polite to the point of being sickening but how many times can I answer Sir how are you? Sir where are you from? Sir come inside see my shop...you look good in a nice suit....yada yada yada..k like this is day one..they do not have a clue what the word no means or no thank you or no I am Lithuania....or I am a nudist...none of it worked. .....they just ignore it and continue on with the shlep as you try to walk by. So for me to walk the streets is a real challenge....but Shauna does not get anywhere near the hassles. We will see how long it takes me before I start swearing at these guys. Now there are shops galore here....and its actually really quite here compared to the last time we were here. But the shop keeps are barely haggling, they don't seem to get it that less profit better than no profit....time will tell....
Well we are here and its time to relax....nothin planned lets see how it goes. Even went so far as to unpack our bags.....will it all fit again....
Sat on our deck for a while and chilled with a nice rum and coke....
