Well woke up today knowing its time to head home. At least I didn't have an early flight. I leave at 4 pm and arrive in Edmonton at 6 pm....always funny how that works.
So really not much to tell about the day, stuffed everything back in its bags...surprisingly it all fit. I wandered around a wee bit before my ride arrived and with that I was off to Heathrow. Traffic was not an issue and we arrived early, driver was a nice guy from Malta....no one is from England I am starting to think. Checked in and headed up to the lounge. Air Canada shares a lounge with Scandinavian Air...kinda weird if you are looking for stuff on line the price comes up in Kroners...(spelt wrong I suspect).
Heathrow is a pretty nice airport least terminal 3 seems to be. They do one weird thing though.....they do not tell you your gate number till just before boarding.....and sure as the sun rises in the east....it was the last freakin gate....seemed like about a mile or soooo....nice thing was only had to sit for a min then get on the plane.....all civil...and handled well.
The flight was packed but I picked a bulk head seat and had a great neighbor for the flight. An economics prof...so got to discuss the Euro situation for a large chunk of the flight...I learned a lot actually....might apply for some university credit LOL. We chased the sun the whole flight and kept the window blind open so....no problem staying awake and actually arrived on time.
Good Ole Andy was there ta pick me up (thanks dude) and Zoe was waiting for me at home. Her lil tail was waggin like crazy....nice welcome home. I was bagged. Waited a little bit and hit the hay....don't even remember blinking.
To sum it up it was a really nice trip that sort of fell on me lap. I saw some amazing sites and got to experience a part of the world I always wanted to. I know that I also need some more time to explore both Ireland and England more. They both were better than I thought they would be. As usual people I met were awesome and that always leaves a good taste. I also learned that you don't have to go to the Isle of Man for the TT...its a great lil Island on its own, very scenic. But the TT is awesome!!
Well on that note I shall sign off and I hope me drivel didn't bore you too bad. It is a bit of a challenge I must say to produce drivel and still have a good time exploring...you want to try to share as much as you can but its tough...to get the words even close....my little attempt to get you to experience a bit of what I have in the event you can't for whatever reason.
All good things must come to and end and now it's back to a thousand emails and trying to keep everybody happy. Got to think about where to next......
