Well, we've finished our volunteer work, not long till we leave Borneo! The 'Tropical Garden' where we've been working is on the Sabah tourist trail as part of the 'Poring Hot Springs' facility. There are also Bamboo and Orchid Gardens, A Rafflesia (the world largest flower) center, Butterfly center, Canopy walkway, waterfalls and bat caves and of course, the hot springs themselves. The Kinabatangan Safari has to be on the best things we've done here in Borneo. We saw so much of the wildlife in just three days it was amazing. We decided to go with a company called Uncle Tan's. The sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation centre rescues orphanned Orang Utans and rehabilitates them so that they can live in the wild or at least be semi wild living at the reserve. Towards the end of their Rehab the orangs are free inside the reserve but extra food is provided twice a day on platforms, these feeds are the only bit that tourists are allowed to see. Well, we've just arrived in Sandakan on the east coast of Sabah, after spending the last four days freezing our bums off at altitude in Kinabalu National Park.
