Day 12

Ach du LIEBEN!

Today was another cold drab gray day but I was'nt going to let that get me down. So I layered up tons of clothes, and headed NW to reach the Yukon today. only 200 miles more or less. I could do that, and then chill for the rest of the day. I need a chill day.

Well, despite the weather being kinda blah. I saw some of THE most amazing sights so far on my trip. HUGE mountains and massive lakes. Tons of Animals too. I took a bunch of pics and vids, so check them out.

Out of the animals, were Elk, Moose, Buffalo, and even a Ram. I SOO wanted to get a pic of the ram, but he looked at me, put his head down as if he was going to charge....soooo.. No pic of the ram. But you guys know what they look like, right? :)

I made it into the Yukon today and figured I would stay put at Watson Lake. There was plenty here as far as motels, gas, and food. And the next big town (Whitehorse) was over 200 miles away and it was already 3:30PM, So I wasnt going down that route again (yesterday) I found a pretty cool little hotel called THE FAMOUS air force lodge. It was fairly cheap, and seemed OK. had wifi, always a plus. i would love to camp out, but its raining AGAIN, and mix that with the cold, forget it.

So, this air force lodge, is pretty quirky. my room is the size of a small dorm room. One single bed, and a desk. nothing else. shared bathrooms and showers down the hall. i did a little research and found out that this place used to house pilots in 1942 during WW1. Pretty cool!

Ok, a bad thing about small towns....well some small towns, things close at like 6 PM. So my dinner consists of Chunky Skippy, soda, and some cheezy poofs. UGH!

Also....i found out that the owners of this place are GERMAN!!! so, that brings a WHOLE new level to the whole housing WW1 fighter pilots! what side did they help out here?? Is there a spy in the midst? STOP SPYING!!! SPY MORE!

theres more threat of rain.. seriously!?!?! for tomorrow that is. So I hope to make it up to whitehorse tomorrow, its supposed to be a pretty cool town.

Oh...this is just how my mind works. Here in town are 2 cool things. One is the Famouse sign post forest. Such a tourist trap, but kind of cool. You could literally spend hours just looking at all the signs. I think they said more then 70,000. crazy! and then right across the street is the Nothern Lights centre. Which is like a big planetrium that shows you the northern lights (of course) I went to go check it out, but it has certain times its only open. So I might go back, but highly doubt it. I really want to see the real deal, not some fake planetarium showing of it.

Its weird. Im totally losing track of time. Especially days. I have no idea what day it is anymore. wed? thurs? I also havent writtin a thing on the guitar, but no worries. not even 2 weeks gone by yet, and I at least have some ideas for things TO write about
