day 5
I woke up, super early at 6:30AM and broke down camp and packed up the bike to head on to my journey. It was a beautiful day all day, but started out pretty cold. If thats going to be an ongoing thing, then I will definitely be wearing my long johns a lot sooner then I had anticipated. Ok, enough of the boring crap, right?
hmmm, actually today was more or less just that... Boring. I did a lot of miles today, about 389. A record high for me so far.
So, i rode up into Sudbury, Espanola..which I thought was spanish, like es-pan-nyola. Nooooooo its Es-Pan-ola. heh, go figure. anywayz, I saw a lot of bikes today, most I think I've ever seen. But I also think that the road I was on today, is like THE only rode that takes you through this section of Ontario. i am OUT there by the way. not a whole lot going on around these parts. Today was also the first day I thought I was going to be hitching it to a gas station. I made it (minus the hitching part) but will definitely be buying a small gas can JUST in case. gas stations are few and far between around here. the scary one, was about 140 miles between gas stations. Maybe not bad in a car, but on a 2.9 gallon tank. I probably only get 150+ miles to a tank. I actually dont really know, and SO dont want to find out.
Most of the ride today hugged the coast of Lake Huron and Lake Superior. Lake Superior is MASSIVE. stretches farther then the eye can see. I took some video, but it does NO justice. Its just Unbelieveably HUGE
I did want to camp out again tonight, as its another clear sky and gorgeous weather, and...its CHEAP. but I couldnt find a camp site. so I rode into WAWA!!!!!!
HAH, yes folks, I am sleeping in WAWA, Ontario. its friggin awesome! the whole town is like 1 mile long, but so quirky and there are Massive plastic Geese EVERYWHERE. Wawa means goose in Ojibwe (look it up people, you love their shorties, now love the meaning behind the name) wawa, is actually filled with so much history. Apprently the townsfolk here had no means of getting out of Wawa except for steamboat. so they finally finished the trans-canadian hwy here. I forget the year... look THAT one up too, if you really care. I just think its cool that I'm sleeping in WAWA tonight! someone have a shorty and a tastykake for me.
so, again not much to blog about today. At least the motel has wifi.(shocking, since the whole town looks as if no wifi would exist ANYWHERE) and I can shower and relax.
I did upload some pics and like 7 videos. so check them out. I apologize for the shaky vid camera, its tiny and you REALLY have to hold it completely still. Also the sound doesnt always pick up what Im saying
so today
389 miles, spent too much $$ again, boring ride, honked at 2 cows. saw moose signs , but no moose.
thanks again everyone for all the emails, and msgs, and texts. I cant wait to get back on US soil so I can actualy respond to you all.( and call everyone back)
total miles = 1,379
PS: bike is leaking a little oil, its very little but im keeping my eye on it. wish me luck
