BOUNTIFUL BUNNIES

It seems all the San Juan Islands have a bit of a bunny 'problem' and have had for a very long time. There are lots of rumors and discussion as to how this all got started and the changes of population growth and decline. There's even a story of a secret agent from Australia that tried to eradicate all the rabbits in the area and was somewhat successful. However, we have first hand experience with the bunny resourcefulness. We've had a pile of soil in our yard to use for the planter beds, not knowing that it was also being used as a bed for these little fuzzy bunnies! We've even used the tractor to pick up big soil loads from the pile, not knowing that a little family was just inside (probably holding their ears tight). Well, Ruby the Wonder Dog finally discovered the bunny hide-away.....after taking a few pictures, Ruby and I went inside the house to let Steve decide what type of 'relocation' program he would implement.
