Brrrrr! It's a beautiful snow swept scene on our little island. We've gotten about a foot of snow in the past 24 hours and are expecting more. Wheeeehew!! We have taken some lovely walks throughout neighboring farms and looking at our familiar surroundings with a new perspective. I haven't been here long enough to see snow in the islands. Steve had a taste of it when I was still in Ireland cooking. It's great stuff vs. the light and heavy rains we've been getting. The sounds are different and so are the smells. Instead of slurpy-slushy muddy muck of wet ground, we now have a quiet crunch and it's so much cleaner! No more mudslick in the house….just frozen little berries between Ruby's toes.
Other than the snow, not much is happening. We are in the process of inquiring about a temporary position for me to co-chef (loosely put) in Tanzania for a few months soon. We'll see if anything pans out there. Steve will also be guiding a group on safari in the Tanzania/Kenya area this summer, so at least Africa is somewhere on the pages.
Well, that's it for now. Hope you are all cozy warm. Trudge on...

Lee I think I'd cry if it got that cold in LA. I would definitely keep thinking about Africa to warm yourself.
Steve&Christina Lee, Soak up that sunshine for us! Maybe in the near future we can snowboard together on the slopes in WA. Smoochies!
