Having driven back from Yorkton, I spent a relaxing few days with Jen, Jon and Lukas doing the usual - yes, yet more calories were consumed in vast quantities! For my last supper in Winnipeg Jen and I went to Earl's, which is about as close to a typical Canadian restaurant as you will get. It is also the place that serves dry ribs, which are to die for. I was so looking forward to my ribs that I actually thought that I may end up being a little underwhelmed, but they were even better than I remembered them. The excellent service from the cute young lad waiting on us probably helped! The day before Shirley treated me and Jen to a French pedicure, hence the strange picture opposite. We forgot to photograph our pretty tootsies and so this picture was taken at the airport, amidst many strange looks from passers by as we had to remove our socks and trainers and there was snow on the ground outside. Early on the 29th I flew back to Calgary to stay with Michelle and Paul again, so until then. S xx
