Trailor on Tour
Hi there everyone. Sorry for delay in updating, but I have been doing as little as possible and spending time with Jen and the family, so not too much to update you all on anyway.
Since I arrived in Winnipeg all I seem to have done is eat, which is all very nice, but probably a good job that Jen and I don't live down the road from each other or the scales would definitely be topping 20 stone!
Last Friday we went out to dinner with friends of Jen and Jon, Shannon and Simon, to celebrate Simon's birthday. After having dinner at Buccacino's Itlalian restaurant, we headed to Baked Expectations for dessert - the great thing over here is that if you don't finish anything it gets wrapped and sent home with you. This meant baked lemon cheesecake for breakfast the next day - mmmmmmmm.
On Saturday Jen and I went to the outlet mall - heaven - I may need to purchase a new bag to get all the extra stuff home. Sunday we both went to Scattered Seeds craft fair with another friend of Jen's.
Apart from shopping and eating - Starbucks, New York Fries, Dairy Queen, Tim Horton's, Robin's Donuts and Jen's fabulous home cooked fare - I have also had a hiar cut.
On Tuesday I booked to see Tara, the girl who usually cuts Jen's hair. She did warn me that Tara loves herself, talks a lot and laughs like a horse!! Her opening line to me was to mention the new Pope, which she followed with the news that this is the last ever Pope and when he dies it will be the end of the world according to Nostradamus. Not much you can say to that really, is there. This was closely followed by "You've got blonde hair", which I'm impressed she noticed, being a hairdresser and all. I can't say as this was news to me, but she kept going on about the fact that I was naturally so fair, so I explained that it is probably something to do with the sun.
I was being polite and making idle chit chat and so asked after the childrens photos next to the mirror - "are they yours?" She replied "Do you think I could have had children and look this good?" It's a good job there are lots of mirrors around for her to admire herself in!!
Anyway, I digress. The hair cut itself was good, but I came out of there with a big bouffant hairdo that bounced as I walked - Jen agreed that it really wasn't me, but it was fine once I'd washed it myself.
A few days have also been spent helping out with house redecoration as Jen and Jon's house is soon to go on the market, ready for their big move out to the East coast. The hallway and stairs down to the basement were covered in nasty 1970s brown panelling, which is now a much lighter more pleasant lemon shade.
I've spent time getting to know Lukas and catching up with Jen, which has been great. Tomorrow Jen, Lukas and I are heading to Yorkton, Saskatchewan to see Shirley and Mel, so until then. S xx
