Sabaidee Caaaaaa
im currently in Koh Tao which has already after 1 full day here now became my favourite island of all time ever. Its full of real cool people like me and janine who also goes by the street name of J-9. Seriously.
anyway to continue from my last blog maybe, i was in koh samui and me and Janine were going for alcohol free night. ahem. obviously that went down really well. we ended up going to a nice little cafe where there was a nice chill out section tahat we werent actually allowed in as we beleive everyone in thailand now believes we are lesbians and they dont approve that maybe? anyways we def arent just in case you're wondering (ashley) we didnt have one beer there so we were quite sucessful. we then decided to go and have a lemonade on our beach but when we got there it was full of weirdo sex tourists and plus we could actually here the real elvis so we wandered along the beach until we found him!! it turned it wasnt actually the real elvis but an impersonater from the phillipines. he is hugely famous in asia (probably) we know this because he gave us his card and wrote down his you tube address where we can now enjoy his music in any part of the world he was a little genius. we had some photos taken with him he was super lovely and also loved us alot so much so that he took a break from elvis and dedicated his next song to us which was 'you're beautiful" what a little sweetheart!! he then demanded we emailed him the photos we took of him for his facebook so hopefully im getting more famous by the day!! we obviously got in to the live entertainment a little too much and allowed ourselves a beer or too (chang is like water to us here) we also clapped after almost every song which made him smile lots as funnily enough the other miserable punters were Russians and despite what the movie says they do not come with love at all only hatred in fact. Neit!
we then went back and had a sleep and then got up nice and earlyish for our ferry to koh phangan. we made it to the pier early enough to manage to force down some frozen strawberry margaritas and daquiris which were amazing! the ferry went from being very tranquil to full on monsoon wave! so when we arrived it was full on water party the rain was mental!! we had been warned that the 'storm' would hit on the 7th and it was true... kinda. we got off the ferry straight on to a taxi heading to haad rin (where all the cool party people go ) and half way there i was like OMG 'is there somebody from sunderland in the taxi" there was only a boy and girl from sunderland in the taxi! first time iv heard a proper northern from home in for ever i was so excited. shame they was proper mackems like but never mind! they were going to a 26 bed dorm for $5 a night. shame on them! thats a massive rip off here. we went straight to the back packer infomation centre hoping they could help us with budget bungalow. they couldnt really but the nice lady(boy) did send us next door to some sea garden bungalows where she stays sometimes with her clients. or thats what she was about to say anyway she cut herself off halfway through the word cli.... haha. so we trooped there and bagged a lovely room with 2 beds and nothing else for only 700baht for 2 nights sweeeet. it also had the BEST fan we have came across on the islands we had to turn it down sometimes it was so cool. aircon is soo expensive (sometimes up to $1 a night extra) and we dont wanna be too flashpackery so we go for fan rooms as more cash for chang yeah! our hotel also was some kind of animal farm and there were hens running round outside i think we heard cow sex a few times and we had FROGS everywhere as we had ponds and lilypads they were soo cute. it was raining this whole time too of course so after check in we went on food hunt as we starving we made friends with the lady in the 7/11 who was a alcoholic and had a half bottle of samsong next to her till haha. she told us the storm was here for 3 days.... liar. it was done with in like 2 hours maybe. she also made us buy a really sexy poncho which is still unopened as we didnt see the point in opening them then as we were so wet anyways off the rain! we went for food i got a lovely thai soup i wish i could remember the name as i will NEVER get it again. i asked if it was really spicy she said yeah so i said ok medium spice. i couldnt even eat it. everytime i tried i cried and my mouth swelled up i felt like id had my lips done it was that bad!! we then also realised that there were a million israelites on koh phangan all the menus have falafel and israeli food items how random! we did also notice that alot of the israelites are mega hot though until they hit the approximate age of 33 when they turn fat and manky!
that night we headed on down to planet hollywood for tea to see if there was any chance of meeting Arnie and Bruce Willis apparently not though but we did see Jesus's brothers (israelites) we then headed over to the beach where they hold the full moon parties its brilliant like a disco on the beach, loadsa lovely little thai women screaming at you from their beach stalls where they are selling buckets. we picked katy - Free shots and free hugs she was a good choice she did 'vodka' - no vodka included - shots with us! no free hugs tho even though janine can say it in thai but nevermind my bucket was amazing i got apple smirdoff and sprite and apple and lycee juice mmm it was soo good and very strong!! full on bottle of vodka in it (not a litre though dont worry mam) we then parked our asses on a picnic bench and enjoyed the vibe man we are total hippies haha. we were well enjoying the party we made some friends with irish and huddersfield folk then the boys from hull and their southern friend showed up who we met in bangkok. it was a good night for all indeed!Janine also gained a rolex and 50baht that night haha. shameful!!
in koh phangnan one day we were like oh my god its them crazy boys who we saw in bangkok (not the hull boys) these boys were foreign and so annoying and wouldnt leave us along on the last night in bangkok tong even had to have words with them. they had funny hats on so when we saw them in koh phangan we were like uurrrgh!! we then saw them at the full moon party i was convinced they were nordics as they looked quite viking like but they were actually israelites!! they were proper white though in fact one is a genuine rrranga! how weird that you can go all over asia and see the same people.
the next day amazingly the storm was no where to be seen so we went to the beach for some chill out time, the water was gorgeous best sea so far i went in and out the sea many times and accidently almost burnt my skin off ,sometimes factor 30 isnt strong enough. we then went shopping for our amazing half moon party costumes which we based our theme around the 80s, any excuse to get the headband into action, i went for illumious yellow top and my pink tubing shorts from laos which i think gave me legend status! we got flowers for our hair yey. as it was the 80s that night we started the party off at the bar in our hotel as they constantly payed raved music until we got there and they realised J-9 was present so they put all the gangsta music on shame on them! we drank smirdoff ice which i think poisoned me. oops. we then moved on to the beach for some bucket fun from katy, she obviously remembered our names as we made a huge impression on here they all screamed like banshheeees 'come here' we looked like local celebrities to everyone on the beach! a lady next to her heard her shouting my name and started shouting 'tracy i remember you from last' what a crazy liar as if we would cheat on our Katy! the beach was super dead and it had started to rain a little so we sat in an abadoned restaurant to drink our bucket. there wasnt even any music! so we then went and met the hull boys for the half moon pre party in the same same bar. same same but different is a big thing here and everyone keeps shouting it at me and janine which is pretty funny! we then hit the chang accidently and we had a shot of sambucca each to get in the party mood. the bar provided free body paint (which of course was banned from our hotel) so we painted some amazing things on each other. i did explain i was not arty... my leg said i (heart) laos and my arms said gangnam style. we looked soo cool i wrote karl on the one of the hull boys heads as he looks like karl pilkington haha. we then were finally ready to leave with some posh raas who had joined us. we got in a tuk tuk agreed a 80baht each price to get to the half moon party in the jungle and then the raas were like 'ee na like we arent paying that, thats the price for night in a hostel' which its not but nevermind. so we were like for f***s sake get in the tuk tuk we wanna party like its the 80s dammit and they were like 'if you'd been travelling for 3 years...' blah blah blah, they were lucky i didnt give them a geordie kiss thats for sure. anyways when we finally made it we dumped them losers and we went and partied/ i got a vodka and coke bucket i swear it had no mixe it was the strongest bucket ever!! the half moon party was pretty cool though everyone was all neon and it was a pretty cool place litterally in the jungle. when we were trying to leave we kept ending up in the actual jungle oops. made it out alive anyways! felt so ill though but you know me theres never a time for sickness!!
the next day i woke up so late janine had packed me up bless her and then almost dressed me as i had no time to shower so i looked super amazing and also felt like i was dying when i got in to the taxi to the ferry terminal (as we were heading to koh tao) it was a sad ride!! i felt like i might cry or die at any second but amazingly i did survive.
when we got to koh tao after a wee nap on the ferryi was feeling so much better kinda we got a taxi to sairee beach and headed to a cool beach resort that wouldnt let us in as we werent divers. how discrimatory!! we moved on down the beach to the place next door and they took us in, we paid an extra 100baht a night for hot water which was so worth it as in koh phangnan we had cold water only and you basically had to do a crab over the sink to get the shower water. the room is literally on the beach its soo cool the beach is amazing here too. the water is really shallow for a long way out so its like bath water all warm and lovely. we just chilled last night we stayed in our room ate crisps and talked like proper girls even though janine claims to be a boy scout shes a girl really haha.so much so she has been wearing a dress i donated to her all day!! when i went to bed i got in the best where my blanket was actually a huge towel and i could feel something on my shoulder, it was so kind of worm or caterpiller. how lovely! so i got rid of it then went back to bed and there was some on my leg... another one. so i got the old faithfull sleep sheet out where i feel safe and hid like a nun for the night.
this morning we got up, i said some to janine like 'Morren says so' or something i cant really remember and she was like 'wha the ecks Morren?' it turns out after spending over 4 weeks with me she has no idea what im called. great! we then went and had breakfast at tikis where they did peanut butter on toast which made me soo happy!! and i got a cup of proper tea!! small things make me smile here. we then went and hired a motorbike which i was scared of but figured here was a good place to do it so it cost us a whole $4 i mean pounds by the way for the full day. gas and hats not included. we only realised an hour in that we didnt have helmets. s***. but nevermind we managed and have surviced and have returned the bike so we are 100% safe! the funniest thing was when we hired it the man gave us the keys and janines like 'yeah you're gonna have to give me a little demonstration i dunno how to turn it on' bloody yorkshire! filled me with so much confidence her getting me on a bike she cant bloody drive. she was wobbly at the start but got in to it made her work on her stopping technique her face was hillarious mine must have been the same fearful expression. i've damaged my hands from gripping so hard to back of the bike haha. going up the mountains and down the scary paths that are pretty steep made me scream like a girl but it was fun thats for sure! we manged to get to see some proper amazing views and some lovely bay so it was totally worth it!we also stopped for some lovely noodle soup. so lovely tat when janines veggie soup arrived it had a worm in the mushroom hahaha. the woman qquickly changed it but it was so funny! it made me scared to eat mine but to be honest it was by far the best noodle soup iv had in the whole time iv been in asia mine had a lot of small ants in but i think they must be secret receipe. i love how my food standards have dropped so much here..
anyways off to some castle party later on so need a shower and a get ready so speak laters.... xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
