Today we flew from Hong Kong to Dubai. Hong Kong was extremely muggy but when we got to Dubai and walked out of the airport at 8.30 pm at night we were hit with a really dry 36 degree heat! I couldn't believe it was that hot that late it night!

On our drive from the airport to our hotel at Jumeriah Beach (the Harboor Grand - see picture) our driver took us for a bit of a tour to some of the most impressive hotels. One he took us to had gold statues of arabian stallions all out the front. There were more than 20 of them and they were lifesize! It was such an impressive sight but we were so busygaping at them that we forgot to take photos - DOH!

Our hotel room is beautiful (thank-you Westpac Altitude Rewards points!). The room is about the same size as Yvonne's 2 bedroom apartment in Hong Kong. Its amazing. The bed is wider than it is long! The bathroom is quite big with a lovely big tub - everything you could want. The guy at hotel reception asked if we were celebrating a special occasion and we told them it was our honeymoon. He said he will organise something special for us - YAY!
