This morning I actually went to the gym! It was nice being able to do normal things like have a hot shower, watch tv, call home etc in the hotel. We also had a buffet breakfast (which of course we planned to make all our money back on), however, I basically ended up eating 6 bowls of coco pops as I couldn't face anything else they were serving - miso soup, mash, chicken porridge, sausage pancakes, onion rings, fried nice or noodles!
I had another run in with a couple of huge black bee things on the stairs in the hotel (they're 1 inch long and sound like a motorbike when the fly), that scared the bejesus out of me. I also had what I thought was a grass hopper on my bag earlier - until it flew at me. Oh, and when we went out for dinner a great big orange butterfly flew in robins beer mug! They're conspiring to kill me I'm sure - I have two new massive mosquito bites today, I actually think they like the taste of my bite spray.
We went for dinner in the eve and I had Amok, traditional Cambodia Khmer food fish in coconut milk and lemongrass (see pic), was yum.
After dinner I decided I was desperately in need to a pedicure, but after a confusing conversation with a girl in the hotel spa I had to go outside the hotel to get one. There are hundreds of places along the side of the road so I went to one of those. When I sat down two kids came over to start my manicure and pedicure, one about 16 the other about 8! I couldn't decide if it was morally wrong that I was supporting child labour, or good I was helping feed their family?! Anyway, what ensued was something akin to Chinese torture. They covered what I can only describe as plyers in alcohol and then lite them to sterilise (this was a classy place as you can tell!). They then set to work jabbing at my toes and fingernails and doing a right number on my cuticles. They then painted my nails bright pink and I left there $10 lighter and with a slight limp!
