I had a simple plan when i arrived on the bus from Krakow getthe metro to my hostel (from directions given to me by the man at the hostel) and go to bed, however plans don't aways work. my bus arrived 2 hours late into warsaw by which time all public transport had stopped. the bus station is about 3km from the centre but i had no problems finding vthe railwaystation. after that i just followed the directions found the metro station walked to it and then i had to find a bus stop and walk one stop. and then i should be able to see the hostel from the bus stop. i arrived at the bus stop about 2am after trying a few other hostels i went passed along the way (all fully booked) however i spent the next two hours walking around every street within a 1 mile radius of the bus stop. by about 4am quite fed up i gave up and spent the rest of the morning in the train station before getting another hostel for the next night. to top it all off when i did find a hostel for the next night i had my first incident of bed bugs of the trip. so spent the night not sleeping and getting eaten alive!
Well warsaw as a city was ok, a great museum about thw warsaw rising and lots and lots of momorials scattered around the place (all in polish though). as the city was totally destroyed in the war its not really got any war sites although the old town has been well put together. there was also hundreds of statues of john Paul II out every cathlic church and a few others as well.ow getting the overnight train bount for the baltics first stop Vilnius, Lithuania
