Tim is now a qualified PADI diver and absolutely loved the GBR, getting 100% in his dive test, he also saw a shark, stingrays, nemo, lobsters.... the list goes on.
Next up we drove north to Cape Trib, via Port Douglas. As you head further north you see more and more, shark, jelly fish and croc infested water signs, as we love swimming in the sea its a bit of a tease to see lush blue water sitting there not being used. The drive was awesome though, simular to the Great Ocean Road, bending coastal roads with plenty of ocean to look at. The road through Cape Trib itself is also pretty spectacular too, bendy rainforrest roads, with palm trees, croc infested rivers and plenty of insects around.
We drove as far as Cape Trib beach, where the rainforrest meets the ocean and crocs swim in the sea, so we stayed well away from the water, but it definatley a must to anyone travelling up to Cairns.
Today we had a bit of a rest day, buying a few gifts and treating ourselves to lunch (makes a change from beans on toast). Tomorrow we start our journey back south, so a 600km drive to Airlie Beach followed by an early start the next day and a 750km drive to Town 1770.... we heard there is surf here sometimes, so we will see what happeneds when we get there.
Chops and Tim xx
