We arrived at Puno the Peruvian town on Lake Titicaca where we had to change buses before heading to Bolivia. We arrived at the border town of Yunguyo to get stamped out and change our money. We then had to walk across the boarder and get stamped into Bolivia before jumping back on the bus to Copacabana, we managed this with little incident. When we arrived in Copacabana it was midday and the start of a festival where they celebrate the virgin of Lake Titicaca. It was so busy, all the hostels were either full or too expensive as the prices double in holiday season. We managed to find a reasonable hostel. Stevie and I went to inspect the room while Ray watched the bags. When we finally decided to take the room we realised Stevie's day bag had been stolen. After thinking back Ray explained what he thought happened. When he was watching the bags someone grabbed his bag and as he stopped them the guy pointed to the floor. When Ray turned to look another guy took Stevie's bag.
We finally checked in and headed to the police station to report the theft. At the Station we met a Spanish girl called Begonia who just had her camera stolen.
Luckily she was good at English so she offered to translate our version of events as Ray was struggling. We were in the station a while so got to know Begonia some more. When she found out we wanted to go to Isla del sol the following morning, she suggested that we go with her as she had found a good deal. While she wrote her report we headed out for food, it was gross chicken and chips and we were overcharged....so far we weren't enjoying Copacabana!!!! We went back to the station to meet Begonia so we could book our trip to the islands.
With the trip and bus to La Paz booked we headed out for a drink.
Ray, Stevie and I spend most of the evening talking about rubbish before heading out for a late dinner and to let home know about Stevie's bag!!!!
