Left outskirts of Nairobi at 0715 arriving at gates to Masai Mara at 1400 hours having bumped our way across 90kms of dirt road for the last 2+ hours.
First game drive and we lucked in with 1000s of Gnu thanks to an early migration by the wildebeest due to climate change impact on the rainy season in East Africa. Also saw zebra, Masai giraffe, antelope of various types, vultures and Maribu cranes, jackal and hyena, a solo elephant and a herd (approx 15), water buffalo, an eagle, and a shy baboon and shy male ostrich.
Campsite basic, Tessa volunteered to be first help with cooking and everyone thought the spaghetti Bol was delicious! I grated cheese for 17 people. We washed ours down with whisky (Glenvenie?) -yay for duty free! Feeling secure in our tents thanks to security provided by William and his bow & arrows. No worries ;-)
