This morning we took the bike down to paradise beach, it had been recommended to us by Chris and Chelsea the couple from Vancouver. We went down towards it the other day but we didn't actually get all the way down the steep hill because we wanted to go exploring and not go to the beach.
It was surprisingly busy, okay maybe not busy but more people than we expected to see because the roads towards it were empty and you expect these beaches in the coves off the tourist track to be empty!
There were sunbeds across the 300 metre beach and a little restaurant and snorkelling hire place. You had to pay 100 baht each to get on the beach and you got a bed so it wasn't too bad!
They did keep it really clean from rubbish aswell so it was a really nice white sand and clear blue water beach! Photos never quite grasps the real colour of the water! We were in the sea for ages! Obviously go pro selfies were needed! We took some under water selfies, I opened my eyes and Scott said I was stupid because the salt would dry my eyeballs up hahaha!
It was really got today! I know that I say it's really hot here all the time but my god, it's unbearable! You think your drying off and your just sweating again as soon as you walk out of the sea! It's really in comfortable. I'm sure that it's around 37 degrees today?!
We went back around 2pm to get ready and head over to the other side of the island to see Ellie and the family! We are staying over at there's tonight, a little worried in case the reception stops us but we should be okay!
We left our hotel at 4pm, we aren't telling them that we aren't going to be here tonight, not that they will mind I don't think but don't want them given the opportunity of snooping around our room. (Very unlikely that they would do that but you never know! And I have all our valuables with us anyways!)
The drive was really nice, we tried to take the shortcuts but it was difficult because we had to go around the bottom of the island and then up to the middle to drive back town another tip of the island.
It was easy going through reception, Ellie and Sal was there so we just went straight up. I don't think the reception even noticed us! Their apartment is really nice, it has two big bedrooms and a long kitchen come dining room and living room with a big balcony!
We grabbed a chang beer and had a natter before we went and got a taxi to take us up to Phuket town for the weekend market night walking street.
The market was nice, it was huge and really got under the tarpaulin, we left Ellie and Sal in there shopping and we went and got a beer! Ha. Safe to say my tom boy side is coming out in me there!
After a drink we attempted walking to the night market but we weren't anywhere near the walking street which was the main part of Phuket town with the old Portuguese style buildings; we grabbed a taxi and to be fair it was about 10 minutes in the car it would have taken us ages by foot!
The night street was really good, lots of little street stalls selling crazy food and souvenirs. Remedies for bites and sore throats and god know what else! The little kids busking were pretty good once you got passed the crackly microphone!
We had a job finding somewhere to eat and coincidently ended up in a sports bar but it was called 'Anfield bar' haha Scott loved that - not!
Food was yummy but it took us ages to try and find a taxi on the way home. the place was a deserted ghost town apart from the bar we had just came out of! It was quite bizarre!! Finally we jumped in the road flapping our arms about to stop a minivan and we managed to get a ride back to the hotel. We were gunna go back and have a few beers but we were pretty tired so Sal and Geoff went to bed but we still stayed up chatting until about 1am! Me and El have a lot to catch up on! :)
Me and Scott shared the spare single bed to save one of us freezing under the air con on the sofa and so that Alex wouldn't have to move from his camp bed in the living room haha!
