YUK. We had to put an alarm on this morning for 9am. Oh, was that difficult! I think its because we don't have any light coming in the room from outside so our bodies have no idea what the actual time is; and maybe because we are walking miles in draining 35 degree heat all day!?
Our time in Singapore is nearly up! We have had a lovely time, and although we could have done more like gone to Sentosa island or done a night safari, that would have cost us loads! We didnt see many temples because lets face it once you have seen one you have seen them all; and we have seen hell of a lot - trust me!
We packed up and checked out. Went for a walk across town, we found another quaint little alley with cute cafe's and what would be bars in the evenings. All of the buildings had the wooden shutter windows and it all had a feel good vibe.
For Labour day it was pretty busy on the roads even though practically everywhere was shut - apart from most shops.
We chilled out for a few hours this afternoon in the air con lobby before we caught our bus back to Kuala Lumpur where we are staying for the night before our flight to Indonesia tomorrow!
Cant believe we have ticked Singapore off of our list, its going so fast! We were saying that we could never imagine being here even though it was always on the itinerary, we just never seen ourselves being here because it was always so far in advance... and now we are leaving already!
So our bus got delayed due to traffic or an accident on the road so we had to wait in the office for 2 and half hours. It wasn't too bad because we had complimentary drinks and there were movies on the television. It ment that we didn't leave until 7.30pm and we would be getting into Kuala Lumpur stupid late which is what we really didn't want but can't be helped!
Our bus didn't arrive in time so we luckily got upgraded to pure luxury! There were only about 12 of us on the bus anyways. It was a double decker, individual massage reclining chairs with reading lights, personal televisions with awesome movies and we even got fed a pastry. Paying a little bit more for a bus journey instead of a train journey was totally worth it now!
We forgot transport like this existed, we weren't used to all of this luxury!
It was a really smooth ride we both got glued to the tele and watched a few films, we have never left a bus with 100% charge left on our phones until today! Haha.
We arrived in Kl at 12.45am, meaning that everything was closed. Luckily I booked the hostel that was opposite the bus stop, only to get to it we had to walk through a shopping mall that was closed and it was proving to be pretty difficult to get down it, we reluctantly gave in and got a taxi. We arrived within a minute of being in the car - so frustrating! It appeared that the PODs cafe was closed and it looked as though that was the way in! We were both nearly close to tears because we just wanted to go to bed! We started going to the hotels opposite all saying that they are fully booked because it's bank holiday weekend! Luckily a guy sat munching on his street stall food shouted PODS at us and said we had to go up the stairs... How stupid of us, we hadn't opened our eyes and in panic jumped to conclusions and nearly spent more money on accommodation.
The pods we small, the beds comfy! It was one big room with individual rooms made but you could hear everything because the plaster boards didn't go up to the ceiling. It was nice enough and we were beat so finally got to sleep at 2am!
