I got a little drunk last night from the 241 cocktails! I was absolutely AWESOME at pool (with my beer goggles on) I don't think I potted 3 balls haha! And I bought our taxi driver/fisherman/Scott's beach friend a drink, anything he wanted from the fridge, typical man went for the most expensive thing - a red bull... Cost me 100 rupees! Scott done his little deed of the day, again. Fed the dog some water from the tap, he gets all high pitched when he talks to animals even with the cows plodding down the roads, people must think he's barking mad!
We were very sad to be leaving Palolem today, but there is way too much of India to see!
We had a two hour drive north of Goa to Calangute. The journey cost £20 overall! I still can't get my head around how cheap it is here!
Our driver stopped to put petrol in, he put in 16.5litres and it cost him 900 rupees! And the guy at the petrol station fills your tank for you! We are getting ripped off at home.
It was a crazy but pretty drive up, I was glad for the seat belts.
We were both feeling a little sick, I got the horrible deep feeling in my stomach; I thought it was time for the right of passage...
But turns out the bowel movement was normal and I think I was just really hungry and travel sick!
The hotel seemed quite nice for how cheap it was! Only two nights here anyways, the most miserable indian man we have met so far at reception who had a god awful moustache, fair play to him though it was thick!
(We have decided that indian children are really cute but as soon as they start to grow facial hair and chew beetle nuts and their teeth turn black they go down hill - fast!)
We eventually got taken to our rooms after he found the booking number on the receipt; the room wasn't bad, no sun and moon in Palolem but, okay. The base of our bed was made of ply wood, we had a mattress propped up in the corner with two patio chairs in the other corner and lots of spiders in the bathroom, great! Haha. It does the job though, just need to remember to put the door alarm on the door tonight haha!
Headed for the beach, Calangute is much bigger than Palolem, very busy and more commercialised with shops and tattoo parlours and western shops. We couldn't believe how busy it was, we were really spoilt in Palolem with peace and quiet.
The beach was absolutely jam packed with Indians, I couldn't see the sea and I was on the sand! They were everywhere!! And Russians, they're everywhere as well! You can spot a Russian from a mile out; they have flat faces, fat noses and a mean look on their face all the time! That's besides the point that they're rude to everyone!
We thought it was busier because it was a Sunday, day of rest and all that so a trip to the beach?
We grabbed a sun bed, couldn't believe the amount of Indian people walking passed pretending to be on their phones or having them by the side of their hips filming everyone sunbathing because we are white! Stupid Russian girl next to us started shaking her bum dancing and accepted to having a photo with an Indian couple... Well they don't just come in twos then do they! There were that many they blocked my sun! Masses of them! She liked herself a lot. I wanted to give her a wack, she did my swede in all day.
I gave a few Indians my scowl, they soon scuffled away or put their phone down! We have flesh the same as anyone else you know!
There's high tides here, Scott was loving the big waves, the little kid came out in him again!
We went for food in the evening, our hotel doesn't have wifi so we were searching for a restaurant with wifi to look for accommodation and FaceTime home, we couldn't find one anywhere! We couldn't believe it because it's such a seller to get people in to the restaurant.
Oh... Walking up the street after food, a cow casually strolling in front of us, we get caught in a bit of a traffic jam of people and cars, Scott is loving how close we are to the cow! Meanwhile I'm stood next to it's butt and it just flips his tail up and pees. Wouldn't of minded if we had kept walking but Scott was fixated on this cow so much I got the splash backs of PEE all up my leg!! Great Scott. Love a bit of cows pee up my leg, good for mosquito repellent! -_-
