We took our passports to the Vietnamese embassy up the road this morning, expecting the visa to take a few days. It took 10 minutes to full the most simplest form out ever and it was ready to collect at 4pm the same day so not all bad! Just annoying that it set us back $60 each, sickening price.
Headed to the beach for the morning, it was so quiet about! I think there's a lot of drugs flying about here, seen a lot of dealing from the tuk tuk drivers and the smell of weed is very potent in some areas!
We grabbed a bed, ordered a drink but wanted us to have food straight away because otherwise we had to pay for the beds. Such a rip off! So we had food later on. Their veggies and chicken in oyster sauce was delicious!
There were plenty of women walking around trying to get you to have a massage or pedicure and manicure. I had my arm resting behind my head and she came out of no where started stroking my armpit 'aww ma'am you like, your hairs. Aww yes see you have threading.' Nah fine thanks. Of course I should no by now that no isn't in the English vocabulary of Asians. They don't understand this word 'no'. So of she goes 'yes for free I show you' slaps a load of baby powder on my arm so my bikini and all my arm is covered in white powder and she starts threading my armpits. I'm bit of a sucker for having my legs plucked and this felt weirdly good. I think if the hairs were a little bit longer because I don't let them grow wild and free sometimes... Most times. Then I would have had them done. Maybe later!
Scott can never resist when they come up and start trying to demonstrate a head massage or neck massage and he doesn't hide his feelings that they're really good at massages. He looks wide open like aw this is good, yeah my back is sore. Nice one Norm! Your going to have to have one now! Is he have in and had a head and back massage for 20 minutes, well I felt left out so I had a leg and foot massage. Aw we nearly fell asleep. It did indeed feel really good!
The sea was really warm, and calm. They have a few water sports here. The jet packs that are attached to your feet, they look so much fun but are so pricey!
This afternoon went to get our visa and swilled the sand off in the pool. I mean cool off in the pool. Haha!
Scott shone the domestic goddess in himself this evening. He decided to take up sewing and show off his skills. They weren't too bad, although he did let the thread go all the way through the needle a few times so he had to keep threading it back through the tiny hole on the needle which was proven to be a little tricky. He didn't do too bad, until he decided to give up after doing half of it. So now he just has an Indian badge flapping about on his bag. Haha.
We went to the recommended hostel and restaurant over the road tonight for food, 'monkey republic' the food was really good there and it had such a good atmosphere. The tubes helped! They were very 90s and early 00s so we head bobbed near enough the whole time we were there.
We spotted the couple that were on the bus in front of us on the way here, they came over and had a chat to us. We they ended up coming with us to JJ's, it was the last bar on the right of the strip. It was absolutely bonkers there! We had been told it was good but this was crazy and there weren't many people there at this point. We walked onto their sort of 'territory' we were bombarded with information! We had a leaflet so we had a free drink at a certain time and if we were wearing white we had a free drink and this deal and that deal was on. Most important part... 10-11pm 4 beers of Cambodia for $1! Can't get much better than that! Then 11-12am there were buckets 241 for $2! And then something else after that. Loads of people had arrived by this point there were a few cocky fire dancers with the balls and the poles, to be fair they were good and I probably would have a chip on my shoulder if I could do it haha!
We got a bit merry, Scott got a little crazy and bought 8 beers! It's okay, it was only £1.20 for 8 beers so he's not breaking the bank!
Time was flying because the old school tunes were awesome! Caught Scott dancing on his own when I was coming back from the toilet. Just smiling to himself with his eyes closed and doing dancing gestures with his arms like shooting stars, park the trolley, punch the moon. Haha he looked so funny.
I thought I spoke fast but when I went to the toilet two girls sort of invited themselves in. They were from Sydney. Oh god they didn't half talk fast! They didn't come up for air and were weirdly finishing each other's sentences. They asked me where we had been as I said, as soon as I said India, 'omg really!? Like what was it like? Was it safe? Did you feel safe? What were the people like?' Shhhhup! Shurrup. I'll tell you when you come up for air and let me talk haha! Then it was 'OMG pass me your phone you should totally come to Manly. We live there. I'll put my name in add me on Facebook you can come stay with us!' By the way this should be read in a high and low tone Australian accent, they emphasise on at least one word which usually is the last one of each sentence and it's usually in a higher pitch then the rest of the sentence. Again, so funny!
It was a really good night, the dirt cheap beers and the music made it of course! Will have to drink a gallon of water before bed so it helps the head in the morning! Dirty stop outs we are staying up way passed our usual bed time of 8.30pm! Haha. And on a Wednesday night aswell. Wild Wednesdays haven't happened since uni for me and Scott.. Phoaw! Those days passed for him at least 6 years ago, the old man is definitely going to be fragile in the morning! Haha.
