Day 240, 7 Feb '15, Enniscorthy town - the Farmers' Market, Pugin's Cathedral and the castle by night. We had a cosy night in the B&B - utter luxury to have the radiators pumping out heat, heat and more heat. Our breakfast at the Cotton Tree Cafe was a huge treat. When I asked the waitress what we could have from the menu as we were guests upstairs, she said "Anything". Them be fighting words missy! We both found the biggest luxury of course was having it cooked for us and then cleaned up. Thankfully we did have a big breakfast as the next stop was a visit to the Wexford Farmers' market in the town square. Had we not had breakfast it could have proved a bit expensive. Next stop was (finally) a visit to Pugin's Cathedral (AKA: St Aidan's Cathedral). Not frightfully old in the scheme of things. Built in the mid 1800s, it's been thoroughly restored a couple of times so it felt quite new - but stunning stained glass and a good stroll. Home for a "no responsibilities" afternoon nap then we headed back out for an excursion to one of Enniscorthy's many Chinese restaurants. We chose the Golden City which was an attractively decorated place that didn't have one customer. A simple pricing equation - €10 for a King Prawn Curry to take away... or €16.90 to eat it there. Hence the phone literally did not stop ringing with orders for the entire 20 minutes it took for our dinner to emerge. We whisked it away to the comfort of our B&B and snapped this photo of Enniscorthy's castle on the way home. One of the most castle-y castles in Ireland we reckon.
