Less than 12 months ago we returned to Sydney after a year gallivanting around the world - 35 countries and myriad wonderful experiences (www.offexploring.com/notbeinggrownups). We were greeted by typical Sydney winter weather on July 4, 2013. Hot and sunny - 18 / 66 degrees. Little has changed! Little except us of course. At the beginning of our year of Not Being Grownups we packed up our personal belongings, leased out our house and ventured off, safe in the knowledge we would venture back, move back and return back to normal after getting the travelling bug out of our system. In April 2013 when our tenants moved out we had a choice to leave our home vacant for three months or to take on new tenants and try house-sitting on our return to Sydney. We were skiing Whistler Mountain everyday and obviously pretty laid back at the time and said "what the hey". Within a week we had our first 9 weeks of housesitting booked and never looked back - Elizabeth Bay, Potts Point, Newtown, Eastwood, Meadowbank, Darlinghurst, Melrose Park, Gymea Bay, Mosman and back to Eastwood. The gamut of responsibilities from Burmese cats to Moodles, Labradors to German Shepherds, swimming pools, pot plants, rabbits and guinea pigs - and everything in between. We have taken to our nomadic lifestyle like ducks to water and after almost a year have decided to make it permanent. By December 2014 James will finish with his employer of 22 years and will meet me in Europe - I'll have six months of housesitting in the UK to add to the portfolio and we will be as free as birds - Always Forward - Never Back. Let the Games and The New Normal Begin!
