Days 671-676, 4-9 Apr '16, Cuyp, Tulips, Birks, dry run on metro, Vondelpark, burgers, babysitter, Cirque de Soleil's "Amaluna", upgrade, Friday Nieuwmarket/Waterlooplein, Saturday Noorderkerk/Nieuwmarkt and Ten Kate Market. Having museum-marathoned ourselves into the ground over the last couple of weeks, this was 'rest week'. Of course with a few notable exceptions. Day 670, 3 Apr '16, Westerpark Gasfabriek Market. Another day, another tram, another market to visit. This time it's the monthly artisan/food market at the Old Western Gas Factory - or Westergasfabriek. Now a hub for posh coffee shops and artists, it was a groovy, hot (18 degrees!) almost-summer's day to take the tram to the edge of the map (albeit not a huge map). Day 668, 1 Apr '16, Micropia, Dutch Resistance Museum, Memorial at Hollandsche Schouwburg Theatre. We pick up Luca from his other house tonight, so today was a last ditch effort to see some final museums together. A stunning day weather wise and there were people everywhere - seemed to be a 50/50 split between Hens' and Stag events and massive school groups. Day 667, 31 Mar '16, Ten Kate & Albert Cuyp Markets or as it was also known... Rest Day! Scurvy is setting in as we've been too busy to actually go and buy fruit and veges. Today we remedied the situation and limited ourselves to a supplies outing. Ten Kate is our favourite "fresh" market and we splurged at the €1/bag stall. We don't say this often (ever?) but it was cheaper than Spain (our spiritual home). We ended up with 5 pomegranates, 2kg mandies,...
