so the school trip went ahead today - were off to the park. All the kids, over 2000 of the them set of at 8.30 to go to the biggest park in Changsha. We weren't going there, we were heading to Changsha zoo to see a panda. There is only one word to describe the zoo, and that is "horrible." It is dingy, smells like something is rotten, the cages where smaller than you can possibly imagine, and the animals all really sad and lonely.
Did get to see a panda, which had the biggest enclouser out of the lot of them, however was all on its own and wasn't moving. They are meant to be lazy animals though, so maybe that is why it didn't move :( Saw many tigers, lions, reptiles and other normal things you find at a zoo. The zoo was like what you'd expect to find in the victorian times, where they have no concern or care for the animals.
Luckily we didn't stay long, and as soon as we had found the American we headed of to the park to join the school kids. It turns out not only was it right next door, but it was the park that Matt, Scott and I stumbled across on the day we tried to go to the musuem. I only went on the one ride, which was only for photos for the schools website but i spent much time with the kids. They stole my camera on many occassions, hence why some of the pics of the other kids and I aren't geat but fun. Glad I bought a hard cased camera that is tough proof, as sticky paws all over it and handled by many of the kids.
Got the rest of the school day off, which meant extended nap :D then we headed back down to the school to discuss our evening classes that we had 2night but also the plans for tomorrow. 2morrow we are giving a presentation to all the teachers in the school about Halloween - we have to dress up, think they are forgetting one major factor that Halloween has already passed, but that doesn't seem to bother them, also only about 20 of the 200 teachers can actually speak english-makes it a whole load of fun lol.
Evening lessons were a complete waste of time - they were the only lessons the kids had 2day, they weren't in the mood and didn't pay the slightest bit of attention to me. My second lesson was bit better - we got to play "Doctor Doctor" i shout an part of the body that hurts, and in pairs one child wraps toilet paper round the other kids body. is lots of fun although total waste of loo roll lol.
another day is done, gonna be teaching months of the year with my grade 2's this week, not sure how that is gonna go, I'm frightened that the games I've planned are to advanced for the 6 year olds, sure i'll find out soon enough though.
