We're out of quarantine and now staying at the university in beijing. now sharing room with Helen and 2 other people from other hotel. Flat is basic but comfortable, and its not as if we spend that much time in here anyway.

Great Wall!!! - its rather great. Was a really early start, but meant we were there before it was 2 hot, which was a fantastic idea. We had 2 and a half hours on wall. chose not to follow the crowd and go the less busy route when we arrived. its less busy 4 a reason. the other way isn't as steep, if there is ever a next time at the great wall i'll remember that lol. Was quite foggy when we arrived, so some of the pictures haven't turned out 2 good, but was much clearer on the way back down. Very tiring on the legs, but definetly worth the early morning start.

out 4 lunch, at typical chinese restuarant, it was in a shop though, that sold loads of jade items, couldn't afford any of them.

ming tombs, not as good as other tombs that i've been 2, think it didn't help that it was the hotest part of the day, boiling, got burnt 2 out there, only slightly tho. Then on to olympic stadium. We thought it was free because it was the anniversary of the opening, turned out the media lied, so didn't bother going in. was mobbed there tho, was impressive but aparently just looked like any other stadium inside, so quite glad i didn't stand in the massive queue for a ticket.

was meant 2 be peking duck 4 dinner, but didn't happen so now not getting that till 22nd. dinner was nice, but most people were dissappointed due 2 it not being what they expected. Also didn't help that everyone was shattered.

Night on the town followed. Was dead expensive as we ended up in a proper tourist area where they can charge a fortune 4 a beer. Out till three, tried 2 phone home but my phone was broken, so glad it didn't work because I was slightly intoxicated.
