Our stay in Phi Phi was quite mental! The weather was mostly beautiful, it's always busy with lots and lots of various people from all over the world. Our favourite places to eat were Calamara (best carbonara, fresh pasta & ham/mushroom/cream sauce, pizza and Thai food!!!), Dojo for a nice breakfast of eggs & toast but the choice of more English cuisine like bacon sarnie, a restaurant at the back of Calamara which did amazing beef - oh my GOD; to be honest, we never had a bad meal in our 5 night stay! Our hotel was the Princess hotel. It cost 1000 baht a night and is worth the money because it is clean, air con, close to the beach and they have an infinity pool. The pool was lovely, and when you look at it, it looks like it goes on forever (infinity, in fact). The beach was beautiful in the sun - crystal blue water, white sand, very relaxing indeed. There was always a lot of people on the beach but they were all just like us - wanting to have a good time! The nightlife is buzzing, it's party party party! Dojo is always bangin', the Reggae Bar is awesome because of the boxing ring and the staff! If you volunteer to fight, you get a free bucket! But the buckets they sell outside of Reggae are sooo cheap (120 baht for rum, d.coke and red bull) so I'd rather just pay! James knew 2 barstaff already from last yr - Ploy and Dao. They are lovely and really easy to get on with, plus their English speaking is brilliant. We had some good nights in there! The beach is always buzzin' like a mini Full Moon party every night, especially at Apache Bar and Slinky. We met a Northern couple (Aaron & Stacey who feature in a lot of our pics!) from Manc in Dojo one night and spent the next few nights with them too; they are a good laugh. James practised with a Thai Boxer called Kee in the ring at Reggae for an hour - it was hard work but worth it! I have pics and a video of this to upload. There are bars all along the beach and beautiful restaurants - the Hippy Bar put on a good fire show which we went to see on one of our more chilled out nights. There's something for everyone here, and we'll be coming back next month for sure!! After 5 nights we thought it's a good idea to move on... so we booked our boat to Railay, Krabi!
