Day 55: Port Douglas to Cairns

It will be a short blog tonight, we've had a great day but didn't really do a great deal.

We arrived at the infamous Cairns Coconut resort a little after 11am. By the time we got here the rain had cleared and it had become a beautifully warm sunny day.

By the time we set the van up it was after 12pm, which just happens to be the time the water park opens. The kids were chomping at the bit to play on it, so whilst Darren washed the van I took the kids to it. They loved it.

After the water park they had a swim in one of the other pools before we ventured into town to buy supplies as well books and a fathers day present for Darren. The obvious consequence is he knows what he's getting but I don't think he minds, the cards will be a surprise, we managed to get those without him seeing.

Tonight we watched a family movie, 'kicking and screaming', that the resort put on their outdoor screen. Parts of it looked really familiar, the story line was predictable, but I don't think we have seen it before. We all had a good giggle and enjoyed our time together.

Cairns Coconut is a great park and it is easy to see why so many people love it. It is well deserving of it's 5 star rating.

We haven't exactly planned anything tomorrow, the kids are hoping to do some of the parks activities. Darren is looking forward to relaxing and not having to drive anywhere. As for me, I'll just go along with the flow as usual.
