So, I realize I am posting a day behind but oh well. We did a lot of driving. We got up and we started by driving to Terra Nova National Park where we stopped in to a few scenic look outs. But the shortest interesting/waterfall sight was 3-4 hours walk... So we had to pass. We then stopped briefly at the Gambo, Joey Smallwood look out. It was good but not amazing. Today, we bombed around a bit to historic sites in the morning. A fish merchants house and large garden from the 1930s. We then went to the large federal site documenting the 500 years of fisheries on Newfoundland. It was mostly cod and a little seal. We came back to the apartment for lunch, then went out again for the afternoon. We started by going to dungeon provincial park. Today, Trapper had to write her last exam of the year in her online course. So, that gave me time to pack the car and go to church and th St John's Basilica. It was quite a nice church and I was really struck by the vibrancy of the colours in the large stained glass windows, as well as the huge size of the alter and backdrop of the alter. So we are calling an end to our day a bit early today. Trapper went back to the Airbnb around 4 and I am back around 5. We did not do too much today. We walked around downtown looking in little shops. I got a hat. We went to the provincial museum which was alright. The restraunt at the museum though had a great view of the harbour and we sat there and in other places in the museum that had commanding views of the harbour several times for quite awhile. Oh, I forgot yesterday we went to bidgood's grocery store and stocked up on tons of Newfoundland foods. We got Moose Pie, Moose sausage, Rabbit Pie, Bakeapple Pie, Partridge Berry Pie, fish cakes, purity products as well as some basic groceries for our stay. Today, we saw a ton of little sights. We strated at Cupids Plantation. The oldest english colony in North America. It is a provincial historic site and an active archeological dig. The guide has worked there...
