So we made it to marrekesh yesterday afternoon. We checked in to the hotel and grabbed a lunch.
We then met up with the group for our final bus ride. We got dropped off at the Medina and said good bye to the bus driver. We then had a tour of Saladin tombs and of the nearby palace. Each grave had a tile floor above it and some had buildings constructed around it. The palace was beautiful and had beautiful tile and stucco work.
We then had some free time in the souks. We had excellent fresh squeezed orange juice for $.50. Then we got totally lost in the souks. Finally back to the square where the food vendors harassed us to death to buy supper. On our walk out of the square we saw monkey performers. We saw some snake charmers harassing one of the big black snakes with a big head. There was a selection of other snakes lying around as well.
At that point we had had enough of all the crowds so we went and sat in a lovers park where every bench had a couple talking. We waited there for an half hour or so. We then went to the restaurant early for our farewell dinner. The meal was excellent but at the end of it I was ready to go. We said bye to our guide and went off to bed.
This morning we slowly got up and got ready and then made our way to our riad. Where we are now soaking up the Wi-Fi. It looks wonderful but our room is not ready yet which is unsurprising given it’s 11am.
