So it’s only 4 pm but we have basically finished our last day. We are back at the Airbnb. We have food to cook for supper tonight. Breakfast and lunch packed for tomorrow. And the cab booked for 415am. We are so looking forward to seeing home and everyone again. Today we basically just walked around the gothic quarter and part of el born. We saw lots of shops, Santa Maria del Pi, Santa Maria del mar, the cathedral, the Picasso museum. It was all quite good....

Yesterday was a busy day again. I went on a walking tour with my detour app. I liked it. It was not amazing but it was good. I did this first thing while Trapper lounged and slept in. So we arrived in Barcelona and are enjoying our first day. Last night after we arrived we went out for supper. I had paella. It was good but not particularly special. I must say other than jamon, the occasional pastry, and churros con chocolate (which were all excellent) the food has been rather average. Therefore it’s been a disappointment. Well we are on the train to Barcelona. We got up this morning and did a Rick Steves audio tour of Madrid. We bought cookies from cloistered nuns using a lazy susan. We went through the very bright, colourful and new cathedral. We stopped for very good rich porras and chocolate for dipping. We stopped into several local markets. It was a lovely way to spend the morning. I’m so looking forward to Barcelona though.

Today we went to two museums. We went to the Reina Sofia where Guernica is. Pammie did an English project on it, so it was cool. looking at it we saw many details that were not in the photos. We also saw lots of Picasso and Dalí s. After that we went to the Prado museum. It has the older art works. It was good but I would say it was not as good as the Reina Sofia.
