Death Voyage to Phi Phi Ley: - Us girls spent the morning looking at the shops. And we all had lunch in a lovely French bakerie! - At 1pm we were met by a cross eyed, trampy looking bloke who turn out to be our 'captain' to take us to Phi Phi Ley! We boarded a rickety Long Tailed boat and headed across very choppy waters to the island where 'The Beach' was filmed. As we got half way between Phi Phi Don and Phi Phi Ley the sea was so rough we really thought we were going to capsize. - Amazingly we made it in one piece to a beautiful, calm blue lagoon on the waters surrounding Phi Phi Ley. It was amazing! Further down the coast we reached a rougher bay with a small beach, here we were told we would have to swim through a small tunnel to reach Maya Bay (The Beach)....we watched as the waves crashed against the roof of the tunnel - there was no way we were swimming through there - so after some persuasion we got 'Captain Crosseye' to take us back to Phi Phi Don - gutted because we really wanted to see 'The Beach'. :o( - This evening we had a great time watching the cup final in a bar called Apache....Jody and Barry were especially chuffed with the results!
