The Awesome Foursome
Some how we all managed to get up this morning after quite a heavy night - especially Kirsty and Barry!
We were out to breakfast by 10 and heading to the pier for our 11.40 ferry to koh Samui, lugging our backpacks across town to get there - not the best hangover cure!
After a 40 minute voyage we arrived in Koh Samui and managed to get straight into a taxi to Haad Chaweng; a lively resort on the East coast.
We spent ages looking for a guesthouse to stay in because the prices in koh Samui seemed to be twice what we had paid in Koh Pha Ngan!! Evemtually we settled on a couple of pleasant bungalows near to the beach called Best Beach - not sure that's actually accurate! The best thing about our rooms was the fantastic - if revolting - wallpaper!
After offloading our packs we headed across the road to the shops and bars for some lunch and a bit of investigation. We had a lunch at a bar called Mobys, after which we booked our ticket to Phuket for Tuesday and then shopped of course!!
After a nice bit of shopping and a freshen up we headed back into town to find somewhere for dinner, we opted for 'Will Wait' interesting name, but in fact we didn't have to wait long!
This evening we headed to a few bars in the pouring rain! First the kangaroo Bar which was scary beacuse the floor was flooded and there were electric cables laying on it!
The best part of the evening however was a bar called 'Sound', where we watched 2 live bands. The first band were really good - a Scottish bloke who was really good on the guitar and an American bloke who had a great voice.
The second band were awful but far more entertaining - the singer sounded like tweety pie and their version of Coldplay's Yellow was hysterical!!
