How we went car-shopping and ended up with accomodation...
So...an eventfull first week in Australia is coming to its end. Stayed at the hostel till Saturday and have been homeless since. Or close to homeless anyways.
On Saturday we went car shopping. First at a car dealer's- no luck. Afterwards we stumbeld over a couple of ads in a coffe shop and had to go to a totally different area of Melbourne - St. Kilda. Got here by tram and it feels like beeing in a totally different city - bohemic and layed back people and this weird artist-like atmosphere with beaches and backpackers pubs all over the place. So...the first car was crap. Sadly, because it was a Volvo and Anton was happy as a kid on Chirstmas Eve. The second car was much better, almost a taker, but had bad tires and this whole thing would have taken at least 10 days before we could get it. Sad, since we were homeless at the time and were counting on being able to drive away and sleep in the car the same night. The guys showing us the car live in this huge house in st. KIlda - 2 floors, 8 people from different countries renting the house. Just as we were about to give up and go looking for a hostel they asked us if we wanted to stay the night - it was getting dark and cold and they had a spear room. HOW LUCKY ARE WE?! And it's for free since all of the people have to move out by Monday. So, no car yet, but at least a roof over head and 8 nice roomies to keep us company in the shifting Melbourne climate.
So we're good and happy and enjoying the flow as every day in Australia seems to bring something new and unexpected....
That's it for us for this time. Enjoy the pics till next time!
